May Psychology is located on the corner of Wellington St and Alexandra Pde, an image of the exterior can be found on Google street view here.

  • Wellington St has plenty of 4 hour parking that tends to have spots available all day.

  • Alexandra Pde has all day parking spots, however these are often occupied.

  • There are also many surrounding streets with 4 hour parking.

  • The closest public transport stops are Alexandra Pde/Smith St via tram, and Victoria Park via train.

Physical Location:

  • There is a slight step approximately 1 inch in height at the entrance, and the interior of the practice is on the same ground floor level.

  • There is a white doorbell on the front door, which you will need to press so that someone can let you in.

  • Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time as there may not be someone available to let you in.

  • There is a bathroom inside the practice which you are welcome to use.

  • There are HEPA filters that operate in the waiting room and Grace’s room.

Sensory Information:

  • It can be a bit loud outside the building as there are often lots of cars on the surrounding streets. Once you enter the waiting room, the noise level reduces significantly.

  • There may be music playing in the waiting room, however it is generally a quiet location as sessions may be taking place.

  • The waiting room has overhead lights and natural light from large windows, so it can be bright at times.

  • Grace’s room is very quiet and only has low lighting from lamps (no big lights allowed here). If you need Grace can make any adjustments for you, please let her know.

  • Grace has lots of fidgets, games, and stuffed toys that you can use in session to help regulate.

  • The couch is velvet, with cushions in a range of soft textures.

  • You are welcome to bring headphones/ear plugs if noise control supports your comfort.

Social Script:

  • When you arrive, Grace or her colleague Victoria will greet you and offer you water and tea. You are welcome to help yourself to these at any time and have as much as you’d like.

  • You will then be asked to wait in the waiting room until your session begins. Please try to limit noise in the waiting room as sessions may be in progress.

  • Grace will enter the waiting room and invite you into her room.

  • She will sit on the smaller armchair and you will be invited to take a seat on the large couch.

  • You are welcome to take your shoes off, put your feet up, or lay down on the couch if that feels comfortable for you.

  • Therapy sessions typically go for 50 minutes.

  • It’s completely fine to feel nervous about coming to therapy and Grace understands that this happens for many reasons. If you have any questions or concerns, please let Grace know.

  • Grace does not expect you to maintain eye contact and welcomes neurodivergent folks to unmask if they feel comfortable to do so.

  • You are welcome to take a break at any time, and even play a game together if that feels right.

  • At the end of the session, Grace will discuss payment with you or your caregiver (card only). If you’re funded by NDIS, this will likely be organised ahead of time.
